FRIENDSHIP
There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. – Proverbs 18:24
Friendship is such a dynamic relationship, in that it has the power to build or destroy, to silence or give voice to, to detract or complete. Yet, we can have the tendency to enter such a relationship arbitrarily or refuse to recognize when the friend just isn’t friending anymore. More than ever, it is important to curate our friendships - to be intentional about those we want to be in relationship with and pursue them. Who you become might depend on it.
What kind of friend are you?
What kind of friend(s) do you want?
Is there a difference between the kind of friend you are and those you have, or want? If so, what can you do to address the variance?
Who do you want to be?
Whew! Like bamboo shoots, we’re working on our roots.
Though we might not see immediate results, our work is never wasted, it's simply stored. One strategy to become the person you want to be is to build small habits and implement systems that apply pressure in the direction you want to go. Inevitably, you will reach the tipping point – then the thing must shift.
Take time to reflect and meditate on the following questions:
Who do you want to be?
What does that person do?
What are three systems you will implement to become the person you want to be?
Remember:
As you go and as you grow -
be kind to yourself
be patient with yourself
honor your progress
and no matter what happens…. KEEP GOING!
